How RID-X Works

Much like enzymatic drain openers, Rid-X uses a special formula to eat away at organic matter without harsh chemicals. It is specifically formulated to also keep the balance of bacteria in septic tanks.

How Long Does it Take?

It takes 2 – 4 hours for the Rid-X bacteria to germinate and begin breaking down waste. On the other hand, the enzymes begin working as soon as they come into contact with water.

In favorable temperatures and conditions, the bacterial will quickly multiply to the maxim level in about 2-4 days. The speed at which the bacterial and enzymes break down waste will vary depending on the septic system. When used for purposes of removing organic matter from pipes, it might be best to let the product sit overnight.

Types of RID-X

Rid-X comes in three convenient formulas, gelpacs, liquid, and powder. Each sachet, box, or bottle contains the following ingredients:

  • Cellulase that breaks down toilet paper and food waste

For best results, use when the plumbing is not active, such as at night. This could be at night or before a vacation.

One dose is 8 fl. oz. for tanks up to 1500 gallons. Pour the liquid into the sink drain or toilet, run water for 15 seconds or flush it.
